Outsiders Youth!

About The Founder

Ross “Coop” Cooper is one of the most passionate youth leaders in our country. He has been serving youth for over 25 years in three states and has seen thousands of youth saved and have life changing experiences. Coop has a proven formula of love and compassion for our youth and a philosophy of understanding that allows him to reach youth when everyone else has failed.

Coop and Laurie have been married for 28 years and they have three children; Gabrielle, Garrett, and Michaela and a son-in-law Michael. They have adopted three childreen (Austin, Christie, and Kayla) bring their family to six children total.

Coop is a former NCAA wrestler and athletic director; he is currently a youth pastor, pastor to youth, lay counselor, motivational speaker, and a magnet for youth. Coop works with local high schools in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and he also works with local schools in the Henry County area in soccer and wrestling. Just recently Coop has started teaching abstinence in the local high schools.

Coop is currently the President of the Outsiders Youth Ministry and he is working in conjunction with the local churches and other non-profits in Henry County to develop his total ministry plan. He started with a handful of teenagers and he is currently averaging 80 on Monday nights and has had hundreds out for a large quarterly event. Many of these youth would not ordinarily come to church are regular attenders at the Outsiders weekly gatherings.

Many Parents have said that Coop is “home-base” for their youth. When their youth get into difficulties, or are having a hard time coping, they can call on Coop and his ministry. Parents can always tell when their youth has been working with Coop’s ministry because of the positive changes they see at home.
